Florida woman stabs boyfriend in eye with ârabies needleâ for looking at other women, police say
A Florida woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend of eight years in the eye with a hypedermic needle intended for their dogs, according to WPLG in Miami.
A Miami Police Department arrest report obtained by the outlet says 44-year-old Sandra Jimenez and her boyfriend had been in an argument last Saturday over what she perceived to be his habit of looking at other women.
After they arrived at the home they share in Miami’s Upper Eastside area, the man went to lie down on a couch and Jimenez “jumped on top of him with two rabies needles that were for their dogs,” the report says.
One of the needles pierced the man’s right eyelid. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately known.
Jimenez fled the scene, but police later found her sleeping in her car and took her into custody, according to NBC6 in Miami. She reportedly told police her boyfriend’s injuries were self-inflicted.
Jimenez made an initial appearance in court Monday. Her bond was set at $7,500 and she was placed under house arrest.
Aggravated assault is a 2nd-degree felony in Florida, punishable by up to 15 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
